Artist Statement: My father woke me up one morning and gave me a glass paperweight that he explained was from the Chicago World Fair — it had been a gift from his aunt that said "Don't Forget Your Father," who was her brother (and my grandfather). In the new gifting, my parents were splitting up and dad was advocating for his own memory. When he passed away a decade ago I brought it to his funeral. RIP Dad. I will never forget you and your strange, cool paperweight. — Kelli Manthei
